Dismaland | ディズマランド

My husband and I went to Banksy's Dismaland which is open for five weeks from the 22nd Aug. It was dismal and fun!

Our tickets were for the 11.00 slot but we arrived there around 11.30 following my friend's advice, to avoid a long waiting time. Although there was a long queue, it became swiftly shorter  so we didn't have to wait that long. 

ツレアイと2人、8月22日から5週間限定で公開されているバンクシー監修のディズマランドへ行って参りました。「夢の国」ならぬ「陰鬱（dismal）の国」、めちゃめちゃ楽しかったです！

チケットは11時入場のものだったのですが、先に訪れていた友人のアドバイスに従って、行列回避のため入場時間から30分ほど遅れて到着。結構並んでますが、サクサク進むので、さほど待たずに入れました。

After a thorough security check, we found that Ariel was missing! Bit disappointed but never mind... We started wandering around the bemusement park.

入念な（？）セキュリティ・チェックを通って園内に入ると。。。アリエルがいない！

軽くがっかりしたものの、気を取り直して園内を回ることに。

I first bought a program here but it was awkwardlylarge. Should've got it at the end.
真っ先にこちらでプログラムを購入したのですが、結構デカイ。一番最後に買ってもよかったかも。

Cheesy Hawaiian type music and apathetic announcements over the tannoy were in the background.

園内に流れるゆるーい音楽とやる気のない園内放送が気分を盛り上げます（笑）

Impressive art works inside The Galleries.
かなり見応えのある屋内展示。

Lethargic cast.
倦怠感を滲ませながら陰鬱に来園者に絡むキャストたち。

While we laughed at the art works with cynicism or satire, we actually became part of the exhibits. I don't know if those works are "great art" which will last for hundreds of years, but I simply admired the power of the art.

皮肉や風刺の効いたアレコレを見ながら笑っているうちに、わたし達も実は笑われる側になっている、という。

ここに展示されている作品が後世に残る偉大な芸術作品かどうかは置いておいて、単純にアートの力ってスゴイと思いました。

After Dismaland, we went down to the Weston beach and the brown dismal sea was waiting for us...

ディズマランドを後にしてウエストン・ビーチに降りてみると、茶色く濁った陰鬱な海が。。。
