My husband and I had a holiday in Bulgaria. I didn't know what to expect but we enjoyed exploring several towns and villages there. On the first day, I arrived in Sofia in the evening. My husband's friend's girlfriend E kindly came to the airport to pick me up. We met up with my husband who had been already there at our hotel and went off to dinner straight away.
ツレアイと2人、春のブルガリアを旅してきました。
ブルガリア、まったく未知なる国、でしたが、いくつかの街や村をそぞろ歩いて参りました。
というわけで、初日夕方、ソフィア空港に到着。
ツレアイ友人の彼女Eさんが親切にも空港まで迎えに来てくれました。
別便ですでに到着していたツレアイとホテルで合流。
Eさんがおススメのレストランを予約してくれているとのことで、そのままディナーへゴー。

These are my first Bulgarian dishes! We shared these starters; clockwise from the top left photo, traditional Bulgarian salad called shopska salata, aubergine dip kyopolou, stuffed vine leaves with cheese and deep fried peppers stuffed with cheese. E chose mushroom risotto for her main course as she's a vegetarian and our main course was a lamb dish. Clearly, their cuisine is strongly influenced by Turkey and Greece. I especially loved kyopolou for its garlicky and charcoaly flavour. This restaurant was the best one for this holiday. I wish I could go there again! E gave us some useful advice. Thanks!

3人で前菜をシェア。
写真左上から時計回りにチーズがかかった野菜サラダ「ショプスカ・サラタ」、なすのペースト「キョーポロ」、米を包んだブドウの葉の塩漬けのグラタン、ピーマンにチーズなど詰めて揚げたもの。
この後、ベジタリアンのEさんはキノコのリゾット、ツレアイとわたしは羊肉料理をメインにいただきました。
料理にトルコやギリシャの影響が色濃く見られますね～。
特にニンニクの効いた焼きナス風味のキョーポロがおいしくって、これだけでパンとワインが進む進む。
結局このレストランが今回の旅行では一番美味しかったなー。また行きたい！

The menu was a picture book! The food they serve is Bulgarian and Italian. In East European countries, they put the weight of all dishes on the menu. Interesting. We shared kebab and grilled tuna burger which were beautifully presented and tasted good.

東欧のメニューって、料理の重量が載ってるんですよねー。面白い。
ケバブとマグロ・バーガー（！）をシェアして食べましたが、素敵な器にキレイに盛りつけられたお料理、美味しかったです。
