Ingrid lives in a smart apartment in Oslo with her husband Morten. She used to be a teacher but since she lost her sight recently, she has retreated to a safe cocoon of their apartment. Everyday she would sit in an arm chair by the window all day long, imagining things...She wonders if Morten who went off to work actually sneaked back and is watching her or if he is having an affair behind her back...Her imaginations become almost delusions and we as audiences are not sure what is real and what is made up in her head. Her grotesque and sad delusions reflect her anxiety and loneliness; Does Morten still love her even though she's gone blind? He doesn't make black jokes any more, is that because he pities her? She knows that Morten hopes that she will start to go out again but she's not ready yet...The film starts with a scene in which Ingrid is making her a cup of tea in the morning. Following her movements with the sound around her emphasized, I felt empathy for the world she lived in.

オスロのアパートに夫と二人で暮らすイングリッドは元教師。

ある日突然視力を失って以来、外に出ることができなくなります。

窓辺の椅子に腰掛けて、日がな一日、周囲の出来事に思いを巡らす日々。

仕事に出かけたはずの夫モートンは実は家にいて、じっと息を殺して自分を見ているのではないか。 夫は自分に隠れて浮気をしているのではないか。

彼女の空想はどんどん広がって行って、やがて妄想となり、観ているわたし達にも妄想と現実の区別がつかなくなってゆきます。

夫は失明してしまった自分をまだ愛しているのだろうか。

毒舌だった彼が当たり障りのないことしか言わなくなったのは、自分を憐れんでいるからではないか。

夫が自分に出かけて欲しがっているのはわかるけど、まだ心の準備ができていない。。

そんなイングリッドの不安と葛藤が反映された妄想の哀しくてグロテスクなこと！

映画は朝、イングリッドがお茶を淹れるシーンで始まるのですが、ひとつひとつの動作を確かめながらカップにお湯を注ぐ様子が、強調された音と共に描かれていて、彼女の世界にスッと入って行くことができました。

それにしても、邦題に付け加えられた「視線のエロス」は蛇足なんじゃないでしょうか？（日本では劇場未公開、WOWOW で放映されたようです）
